I've just been pre...God hears your questions.

I've just been preparing a study on Habakkuk, one of the minor prophets in the Old Testament. He is so relevant to us today, as is the whole of the Old Testament.

Whereas the role of the prophets was to call the people back to God,Habbakkuk was so saddened by the violence and corruption he saw all around him,he asked God some difficult questions. He saw a dying world and asked,

"Why is there evil in the world". "Why does injustice go unpunished"

There is something really refreshing about his honesty as he grapples with questions that we ourselves are asking today.
.
Habakkuk complained to God about the situation.
.
We must understand that God made us perfect in His image, but we are the ones who have 'messed up'
How do you think God feels when He looks down on this His beautiful creation and sees the mess we have made.

God' s. Answer to Habbakkuk and us today is,
"I will work out my plans Be Patient!"

We have our part to play as the building blocks of the .church, as Mike said in his blog, the church is not the building it's the people and we are being called to be Salt and Light in a fallen world...

It' s not wrong to question and grapple but we must have faith to understand that Our God is SOVEREIGN and He will work out His plans and purpose. In a world that seems out of control because society at large has turned their back on God, He rules Supreme and is still in control.
We are the ones who are out of Step.JMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02210564266140123054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2995687680502319585.post-90023211373944285782013-09-30T21:22:19.183+00:002013-09-30T21:22:19.183+00:00Thank you Paul. My commitment to church (the people not the building) has taken me away from my once regular writing.

This post is a version of the sermon I preached yesterday on Big Welcome Sunday. It was aimed at visitors but, as you well understand, also at Christians who know the theory but don't quite "get it" in reality.

My passion is for every Christian to own "the church" as they own their own lives. I am blessed in that my Pastor is of one mind with me in this and I get plenty of encouragement.

Thanks for your encouragement and I hope to be posting more regularly and sharing more in future. Your thoughts are valued.Mike Teahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14505904110015305223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2995687680502319585.post-26376975203333934512013-09-30T15:03:47.964+00:002013-09-30T15:03:47.964+00:00I found this blog because you shared it with me on...I found this blog because you shared it with me on Google plus. That was my first notice today. Until today, you were someone I ran across somewhat regularly on FB, but really knew little to nothing about.

This was great. We say we know the difference between the people and the building, but the terminology Christians use make it clear that they blur the distinction all the time. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Our knowledge that the church is PEOPLE has not sunk down into our hearts, as evidenced by our speech.Paul Pavaohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03135622914331255065noreply@blogger.com
