I have learned over the years the worth of that famous exclamation of John Bradford on seeing some criminals being taken to execution, "But for the grace of God there goes John Bradford". Nevertheless, I am also reminded of Paul's injunction to Timothy, "The overseer (Elder) must be above reproach...He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?)" 1 Tim.3:1-5
As I consider the news that Todd Bentley is suing his wife for separation I say, "But for the grace of God there goes Mike Tea" But I must also ask whether this man is fit to lead. I have no doubt that this whole Lakeland thing is a totally phony affair and those who fall for it are out of their minds, but perhaps this will be an indication to them that all is not as it seems and remember that "Pride goes before a fall".
Maybe he needs to put his own house in order and that should include getting right with the God whose name he has blasphemed since this whole circus began. Maybe then he will find peace in his home.
